Assistant Professor Nie Youyan

Nie Youyan is an Assistant Professor with the Psychological Studies Academic Group, National Institute of Education. She obtained her PhD in Educational Psychology from Nanyang Technogical University (Singapore) and MEd in Educational Psychology from Northeast Normal University (China). While pursuing her graduate studies, she was involved in several research projects in China and Singapore in their respective Ministries of Education. These studies dealt with motivation, self-regulated learning, problem solving and pedagogy.

Nie Youyan has taught psychology at various levels (i.e. Graduate, Undergraduate, and Secondary). Topics included introduction of psychology, learning strategies, achievement motivation, interpersonal relationship, love theory and practice, statistics, and research methodology. She has also previously worked as a counselor in the Mental Health Center of Northeast Normal University. in Jilin, China.
