Assistant Professor LI Chunxiao

Dr. LI Chunxiao (CX) is currently an assistant professor in the Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) Academic Group, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. Prior to joining PESS, he was an assistant professor and the program leader of Bachelor of Education in Physical Education/Music/Visual Arts (Honors) in The Education University of Hong Kong.

CX’s research primarily focuses on teacher training for inclusive physical education, talent development environment, mindfulness, and meta-analysis. His research is mainly guided by self-determination theory, self-efficacy theory, and/or theory of planned behavior. To date, he has been involved in more than 15 research projects, published over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, and served as an ad hoc reviewer for more than 20 peer-reviewed journals. He also serves as editor of Cogent Psychology, academic editor of Medicine, associate editor of International Journal of Sport Psychology, and review editor of Frontier in Psychology.

CX is a serving board member of the Asian Society for Adapted Physical Education and Exercise. He has conducted several workshops about how to include students with special educational needs in physical education classes for teachers in Hong Kong. CX spends most of his leisure time on doing physical exercise and reading. Occasionally, he plays computer/mobile games. He tweets @cxlilee.
