Professor Avi Assor
Avi Assor is currently a professor in the Educational Psychology section of the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel. He obtained his PhD and Masters in psychology from Michigan State University, and was previously a visiting research fellow at the Human Motivation Program of the University of Rochester.

Over the past 30 years, Avi's research interests has spanned many different areas, such as motivation, person perception, parenting, and relationships, and he has published numerous articles on these topics as well. He has written and co-authored several book chapters on learning motivations in school, in books such as Motivation for learning: New conceptions (Branco-Wise Institute, 2001), Schools of the future (Masada, 2004), and Learning from a different angle - Volume 3 (Ministry of Education Israel). Courses he has taught include Motivation and Emotion, Developmental Psychology, Practicum in School Psychology, and Parent-Child Relationships.
