Assistant Professor Coral Lim

Coral Lim completed her graduate studies at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. Her doctoral thesis looked at causality orientations, autonomy-support and self-control, and their effects on basic psychological needs satisfaction, and ego-depletion. Her research interests include the Self-Determination Theory (SDT), self-regulation theories and achievement motivation. She is particularly interested in applications of theories in the education and social contexts. Prior to joining the National Institute of Education (NIE) as a faculty staff, Coral worked as a research associate with the Motivation in Educational Research Laboratory (MERL) in NIE, taught at the Singapore Sports School, taught PE and Mathematics in schools as a physical education (PE) subject head, and was also a netball coach.
